Belfast has a rich cruise history being home to Harland & Wolff – the shipyard that built the Titanic. There are only a couple of cruise lines that give the people of Northern Ireland, the chance to cruise without flying or driving south – Fred. Olsen (who also own Harland & Wolff) and Cruise & Maritime. From Castles to Canals and beautiful parks, Belfast offers the early cruise visitor much to explore. There’s the legendary Titanic Trail, Causeway and Coastal route as well as a visit to Winterfell, the location for the film, Game of Thrones. It is the gateway for a lot of cruise destinations including the Americas, Mediterranean, Canaries and Northern Isles, amongst others and is used by many cruise line operators for their Irish passengers.
